The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has proposed to introduce a price cap on the rent-to-own (RTO) sector as part of efforts to protect some of Britain's most vulnerable housheolds. The cap, subject to consultation, will come into force on 1 April 2019 and provide protection for customers - many of whom aren't earning enough to repay the contracts they're placed on.
