London, UK. 15 Oct 2024. The Hay Wain, 1821 - Discover Constable and The Hay Wain, a new exhibition at the National Gallery. It is part of NG200 celebrations which is apt as 1824 was a key moment for Constable as the painting garnered great acclaim at the Paris Salon. When it was first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1821, it was viewed as an innovative reimagining of the landscape tradition. The exhibition shows how Constable came to be established as a master in the history of British art. It runs from 17 October 2024 - 2 February 2025 in the Sunley Room.
