Larry White, fine woodworker, stands by a chair he is creating in the shop of the famous artist/woodworker Sam Maloof. Larry had known Sam Maloof for 50 years and was his first apprentice. He and two other apprentices came to be known as "the boys." He and the other "boys," Dave and Mike, still create fine art furniture in the Maloof tradition at the shop. Sam Maloof was the recipient of a MacArthur Genius Grant. His work is in the collections of many museums worldwide. The home and shop of Sam Maloof is preserved and administrated by the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation For Arts and Crafts.
