More information:

Larkspur, or Delphinium, or Spur (lat. Delphinium) is a genus of one-and perennial herbaceous plants of the Buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). Includes about 450 species native to the Northern hemisphere and the mountains of tropical Africa. Many species originate from Southeast Asia and especially from China, where more than 150 species are native. Genus Larkspur is close to the genus of known poisonous plants Aconite (Aconitum). Annual species of the genus Larkspur are sometimes allocated to the adjacent genus Socirki (Consolida), which includes about 40 herbaceous annuals.
