“Kill the Bill” protesters from a range of social movements march from Lincoln's Inn Fields towards Westminster as votes on anti-protest measures are due to be read in the House of Lords next week. Protesters are urging peers to vote against any amendments to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill (PCSC) when it returns to the house on Monday. The numerous social movements have united to protest against the bill, which they say would place significant curbs on freedom of speech and assembly, by giving police powers to curb protests, among other measures. Hundreds of other “Kill The Bill” protesters joined demonstrations in cities across UK including Bristol, Cardiff, Coventry, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield and Plymouth.
