Jun. 06, 1959 - People's Action Party Gives First Press Conference in Singapore: The people's Action party, which had a sweeping victory in the recent Singapore general election, gave their first press conference at it's headquarters in Singapore on Monday. At the conference Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, the Prime Minister designate - had said that the P.A.P. would not form a government if the Governor, Sir William Good refused to release their comrades - in Changi Jail under the Public preservation security ordinance. The sight men are now due to be release today
