Hidden away in the grounds of the historic St EdwardÕs Church Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds can be seen this magical medieval church door flanked by two ancient Yew trees. It is popularly called the Tolkien Door, named after the local legend that says J. R. R. Tolkien visited this church and the entrance inspired his Doors of Durin in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
