Great Missenden, UK. 3rd April, 2021. HS2 have destroyed a number of iconic and much loved oak trees and ancient hedgerows along the historical sunken Leather Lane with more HS2 felling to follow for a temporary haul road. HS2 Security are in the fields next to the oaks 24/7 and intimidating local residents and members of the public. The High Speed 2 rail link from London to Birmingham is carving a huge ugly scar across the Chilterns which is an AONB. More than 41k people have signed a petition to save the Leather Lane oaks.
