Since last week from today(8 May 2020) British Airways axed around 12, 000 staff in a bid to stay afloat and Virgin Atlantic announced they have axed over 3, 150 staff and closing operations at their London Gatwick base. The entire aircraft will also have access to high-speed Wi-Fi. Virgin Atlantic has ordered a total of 12 Airbus A350-1000s. They are all scheduled to join the fleet by 2021 in an order worth an estimated $4.4 billion (£3.36 billion). The aircraft also promises to be up to 30% more fuel efficient too, saving on CO2 emissions and being better for the environment plus being a quieter aircraft for passengers and people on the ground.
