Cutts connectedgeodetically the several eccentric station marks since 1873 and again, in iSSo and 1881, those used by Prof. E. T. Quimbyin his survey of the State of New Hampshire. These last obserations have no bearing on the oblique arc, the onlydirection in common being that to Sabattus. Between July 31 and September 13, 1.S82, Assistant Cutts and Aid J. A.McNicol observed horizontal angles at the station in connection with the survey of New Hampshire, bit included thethree directions to Mount Blue, Gunstock. and Mount Pleasant.
