Former EU Council President Herman Van Rompuy, King Philippe - Filip of Belgium and Sophie Wilmes Belgian Minister of budget and Christine Defraigne a ceremony to award the 'Francqui Prize 2017', Tuesday 13 June 2017, in Brussels. The scientific prize, which is often referred to as the 'Belgian Nobel Prize', is awarded by The Francqui Foundation and is worth 250.000 euros.
