The twenty-second annual auction sale of stalls in the new and com- modious market of the Boston Flower Exchange, Winthrop square, will take place Saturday, September 6. There is a quarter acre of floor space. The contrast between the conditions here and at the former location at Park street are marked. There is a well- lighted and ventilated area, with con- tinuous glass fifteen feet high on both Winthrop square and Otis street. There are four large ice-rooms, seven tele- phones, trucks for carrying boxes through the wide aisles, etc. The management says the cost of operating the exchange here will be much less than at the old Park street location. LOWELL, MASS. The Ijowell florists held their first an- nual outing Thursday, August 22. They went to Bass Point by automobile and had dinner there, after which came athletic contests of all kinds, including a hot ball game between the married men and single men, in which the for- mer were victors by a score of nine to eight.
