Fred Sperry reports shipping busi- ness as improving right along at the establishment of the L. A. Floral Co. Mrs. Garrett, of Eagle Eock, now con- signs her stock to him and is consider- ing the growing of novelties exclusively for Mr. Sperry next season. Tony Tassano, of Tassano Bros., Inc., has returned from a northern business trip. I saw the first holly of the sea- son here and it looks fine; also some of the finest smilax I have ever seen in this market, presumably from their Glendale nursery. A. V. Amet has started in business at Santa Monica, under the name of the Mountain View Nurseries.
