Daughter of Dr. Calvin and Rebecca (Monroe) Briggs. Born in Mar-blehead July 27, 1823. In 1853 was married to Charles Mason. Esq., ofFitchburg. Her first volume of poems. Utterance (1852). is now outof print. The Lost Ring and Other Poems was published since herdeath by Houghton, Mifflin & Co. Do They Miss Me at Home? one ofher earliest and best known poems, was set to music and sung by thou-sands.
