Brightly coloured public access defibrillator is installed within Warrington Central railway station on Winwick Street in Warrington, Cheshire. The emergency medical equipment is housed inside a prominent yellow and orange illuminated cabinet marked “Life Saving Defibrillator” and “Heart Restarter”, making it readily identifiable to passengers, railway employees and other station users during a suspected cardiac arrest. The secure cabinet contains an automated external defibrillator, commonly abbreviated to AED, designed to analyse a casualty’s heart rhythm and provide spoken or visual instructions to someone giving emergency assistance.
