Leafy citrus trees as far as the eye can see were in endless rows that covered the subtropical agricultural landscape around Clermont in central Florida, USA, when this aerial photograph was taken in 1976. Since then, severe winter freezes forced growers to move their orange groves to warmer climate farther south and many of the trees have been replaced by commercial and housing developments. Citrus diseases also contributed to the demise of these fruit orchards in Lake County. Historical photograph.
