Daresbury was the birthplace of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland author Lewis Carroll (real name Charles Dodgson). Daresbury has become a place of pilgrimage because of the Lewis Carroll association. There is a recently completed Lewis Carroll Visitor Centre. The parish church of All Saints has a Lewis Carroll window, including an image of the Cheshire Cat.
