Coronavirus: National Covid Memorial Wall. Dozens of members of the public volunteer to help create red hearts representing every one of the UK’s 150, 000 Covid-19 victims on the National Covid Memorial Wall (or Wall of Hearts) opposite Houses of Parliament by the Thames. Currently stretching for around half a kilometre, the organisers expect to reach a target of 150, 000 hearts, reflecting the number who have died with Covid-19 marked on a death certificate in Britain. The country has so far recorded over 149, 000 such deaths, the largest toll in Europe. Bereaved families have stated the memorial wall has ‘got to stay’. London, UK.
