COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - JULY 01, 2022: Minister for Food and Agriculture, Rasmus Prehn, during Prime Minister Metter Frederiksen’s press conference at the Ministry of State in Copenhagen about the Mink Commission report, published Friday, June 30, 2022. On November 04, 2020, the Government unlawful ordered mass culling of some 18 million mink, caused by concerns of a possible Covid-19 mutation. The Mink Commission report accuses the Prime Minister for having forced the pace of the decision-making process to such a degree, that the risk of mistakes was increased and may have led to the mass culling without legal basis. Many top officials, amongst these the Danish Chief of Police and the PM's own Permanent Secretary of State, Barbara Bertelsen, were also blamed by the report. In his hands the Minister holds two maps which shows the spread of Covid-19 infected mink farms at two different times. Photo by OJPHOTOS.
