Puebla was founded by the Spaniards in 1531 and today, the downtown area is a historic-architectural dream to behold. In fact, Puebla’s downtown area was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. Many different styles are represented in over 2,600 designated historic buildings – they include Classic, Renaissance, and Mexican Baroque styles.
