The way we talk about health is incredibly lop-sided. One quick glance at medical departments and it’s clear where the priorities lay. There are all kinds of specialists for various parts of your body right down to individual organs. But there aren’t nearly as many departments that deal with mental health.
And this is strange because our existence, our perceptions, and the act of being is an internal experience. The body is a merely a vessel, an important vessel but the mind is where we live.
In reality, they need each other. Practising good physical health leads to good mental health; a healthy mind gives motivation to maintain physical health. And right now, that’s been more important than ever.
