Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria leave a path of destruction 

Starting on 30th August, Hurricane Irma intensified over the next few days to be declared a Category 5 hurricane on September 5th. The catastrophic storm was the strongest Atlantic storm since Wilma in 2005, eventually tailing off on 16th September. Hot on its tail was Hurricane Maria which struck Dominica as a Category 5 storm, journeying across the Caribbean causing devastation to everything in its path.

London Fashion Week & Milan Fashion Week 

From 15th – 19th September, London became home to some of the biggest and best fashion designers as models took to the catwalk to show off their Autumn/Winter collections.

F1 Singapore Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton was given what he described as a ‘miracle’ at the first corner of the race in Singapore on 17th September, as Sebastian Vettel crashed out leaving Hamilton free to jump from 5th to to 1st place.

Mexico is struck by a 7.1 magnitude earthquake

On 19th September, coincidentally the same day as the tragic 1985 earthquake that killed more than 100,000 people, an earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale struck central Mexico. The 20-second long quake caused damage in many cities, with more than 40 collapsed buildings, including a school, and killing 342 people.

NFL International Series kicks off at Wembley, London

Sunday 24th September saw the start of the NFL International Series in London as the Baltimore Ravens suffered a heavy defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars, losing 44-7.
