Armistice Day & Remembrance Sunday

On 11th November tributes were paid across the world to commemorate Armistice Day; the day the armistice was signed following World War I, 1918. On 12th November, services of remembrance were held in honour of the fallen heroes of the war.

Devastation hit with the powerful Iran-Iraq earthquake

On 13th November, the northern border region between Iran and Iraq was struck by a powerful earthquake measuring 7.3 on the Richter Scale. Over 400 people lost their lives in the earthquake, and more than 6,000 others were injured.

Zimbabwe welcomes President Emmerson Mnangagwa

November has been an unstable month for Zimbabwe, after the military seized power from former President Robert Mugabe. As Mugabe stood down, thousands gathered in the streets to rejoice and celebrate the incoming president, Emmeson Mnangagwa, who was sworn in as President on 24th November.

On 22nd November, the UK waited with baited breath as Philip Hammond delivered his speech at his first Autumn Budget. The speech appeared skewed towards younger voters, with one of the major announcements being the abolishment of stamp duty for the first £300,000 on a house.
