UK withdrawal from the EU

From 5th December – 8th December, the Supreme Court held a four-day hearing on whether the UK government needs parliamentary approval before starting the withdrawal from the EU. ‘Pro-Brexit’ and ‘Remain’ campaigners gathered outside to voice their views for all to hear.

An unlikely partnership evolves

On 13th December, Kanye West shocked the world by walking into Trump Tower to meet with the President Elect. Kanye said, “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues,” while the Donald Trump said the two talked about “life”.

Rogue One takes to the big screen

The US and UK premieres of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hit our cinema screens on 10th and 13th December. This is the first of three standalone spin-off films in the Star Wars saga. The US went all out, landing an X-Wing fighter on the red carpet. While the UK Garrison patrolled Tate Modern during the UK premiere.

Southern Rail causes havoc for commuters

Southern Rail drivers brought UK commuters to a halt on Tuesday 13th December as a scheduled strike began. Disgruntled travellers responded by rallying together and calling for the government to take action.
