Why we think this is great: Studies have shown that people spend roughly 5 hours a day looking at our phones – that’s around one-third of their total waking hours. To counter this we’re seeing a rise in the desire for images that show real life sensations and connections. If you fancy harnessing this trend in your stock photography and need some inspiration we’ve got you covered.

Why we think this is great: Similar to the trend for images showing sensory connections another response to our current dependency on technology are images harnessing quietness and contemplation. The need to be alone and to connect with the outside world instead of obsessing about who did or didn’t like your latest Instagram photo.

Why we think this is great: Who doesn’t love a photo of a super cute monkey? The composition of this photo is great and we really like the use of complimentary colour harmonies.

If 5 images aren’t enough you can view a bunch of great images submitted in the last week here. Motivated to get uploading this week? If you submit any images you think would be perfect candidates for our next ‘Pictures of the Week’ post, tweet the image refs to @AlamyContent with the hashtag #AlamyPOTW and we’ll consider them for the feature.
