Discover 9 of the UK’s lesser-known festivals with our latest blog! Festival season is upon us and as we head into a music-filled summer here in the UK, we’ve taken a look at some of the brilliantly British festivals that you may never have come across…

Cornbury Music Festival  

Cornbury Music Festival takes place in the beautiful Oxfordshire village of Great Tew. Unsurprisingly, this Cotswolds-based festival is a very much ‘English affair’. This year’s festival takes place from 7th – 9th July, with some incredible performances from the likes of Bryan Adams, Jools Holland and the Kaiser Chiefs!

Beat-Herder Festival

From 14th – 16th July, the Ribble Valley in Lancashire will play host once again to Beat-Herder Festival. Known for the creativity of its handmade site as well as it’s heated swimming pool, Beat-Herder caters for a whole range of music tastes.

The Secret Garden Party

For the last 15 years, this party-focused festival has been held every year in Cambridgeshire, and 2017 marks the final year of the large-scale garden party! From 20th – 23rd July, the ‘ultimate’ garden party will commence, with Peaches, Wild Beasts and Ray BLK headlining its farewell from the festival scene.

Cropredy Folk Festival

This annual festival returns for another year on 10th August, held in the village of Cropredy close to Banbury in Oxfordshire. This year marks festival’s 37th year and will see a whole host of folk and rock music performances over the 4 day event.

The Great Escape

The Great Escape is a festival for emerging artists from all over the world, with loads of different venues across the city of Brighton! From 18th – 20th May 2017, more than 450 new musicians took to the stage at more than 30 venues!

Festival No.6

This small festival in the Welsh village of Portmeirion is known as one of the UK’s festival treasures! It isn’t just a music festival, but also a festival of arts and culture, with film-screenings, poetry and even stand-up comedy to add to the musical line up! This year, the festival takes place from 7th – 10th September!

Boardmasters Festival

This is a music festival with a difference! From 9th – 13th August this action-packed festival will take place in Newquay, with a whole range of sports including surfing, BMXing and skating to keep the festival-goers busy!

Womad – the world’s festival

On 27th – 30th July, Charlton Park will see the return of this cultural exploration of music, arts and dance. This child-friendly festival features loads of great activities from live music, singing and dancing to a relaxing arboretum, kids’ yoga and even a spa!

Wychwood Festival

The weekend of 2nd June will see Cheltenham Race Course come to life as families and festival-goers come together for this year’s Wychwood Festival. There’s a whole host of performances across Wychwood’s 6 stages, and something for the whole family to enjoy.
