Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire, UK. 17th December, 2020. The sad sight of tree stumps are all that remain of part of the Scheduled Monument of Grim's Ditch following their destruction by HS2. Locals and environmentalists are furious about this loss of woodland and wildlife habitat. The hugely controversial HS2 High Speed Rail from London to Birmingham link puts 108 ancient woodlands, 33 SSSIs and 693 wildlife areas at risk. Credit: Maureen McLean
