It consists in placing the loop of a half or three-quarter inchrope over the neck and behind one shoulder, after which throwthe rope over beam above and allow the assistant to draw the fore-feet of the hog off the floor by tension on the rope. This rendersthe animal absolutely helpless. By such a method the operatorwith one assistant can handle the largest size hog. Another quick method of restraint for o]3eration of this char-acter is illustrated in Fig. 77.
