An auctioneer's assistant holds a pair of letters written by Lord Horatio Nelson in readiness for sale at a Derbyshire auction house.

Karl Martin, auctioneer's assistant holds a pair of unpublished letters, written with Nelson's left and right hand, that document Lord Nelson's rise and fall. The earlier letter, composed on May 7, 1793, was written with his right hand during the first year of his command. The later letter, dated October 12, 1804, was written with his left hand after losing his right arm at the Battle of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1797.
