Alabama Hills, Lone Pine, CA. July 8, 2018. The Georges Fire burns in the Alabama Hills west of Lone Pine, CA in eastern Sierra Nevadas. The cause is under investigation. Lightning had been observed in the area. Fire crews from Inyo National Forest, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), CALFIRE, and local fire departments are fighting the fire with assistance from air tankers and helicopters.
