About Alamy

We sell images. We add over 100,000 new images every day, sourced from photographers and photo agencies in 173 countries. We pay our photographers a higher percentage of the sale than our competitors and it’s easy to get your images online.

Our images

We have a bigger, broader, more unique collection than any other library and every day we supply thousands of creative professionals including designers, marketing departments, news desks, and publishers with images produced by the best professional photographers around.

Our contributors think we’re great too

We’re easy to work with, we’re non-exclusive and we don’t tie our contributors in with long-term contracts. We don’t edit our collection either so our contributors can choose what they want to sell.

This leads to a more diverse collection and less hoops for our artists to jump through. But we also believe in a fairer world by giving higher commissions splits than our core competitors.

Our ‘100% students’ project supports photography students while they study. We give students 100% of the money they make from the sale of their images on Alamy.

Our Mission

Changing the world one image at a time.

In a world where millions of images are taken every day, there are still stories that have yet to be told. Our mission is to leave no image unseen.

That’s why we don’t believe in editing our photographers. They dictate the market by uploading whatever they want so that we can empower our customers and let them decide what deserves airtime and what doesn’t.

Everyone should be heard. All we need is for you to tell their story.

Our philosophy

We’re proud of doing things differently and philanthropy is an important part of our company DNA. We donate a significant proportion of our operating profits to charity. Since 2007, we´ve donated over $6 million to good causes, including DNA and cancer research through SBL and educational research through the Fischer Family Trust.

We support a number of charitable projects working to improve health education and self-sufficiency in poor communities. Since 2010 we’ve distributed solar lamps to Haiti, Southern India and Southern Sudan.
