A young gunner fires Malta’s noon cannon to mark the midday hour. The noon gun salute is an old naval tradition that was re-established in 2004 and occurs daily from the Saluting Battery in the Maltese capital, Valletta. The cannon is a modified replica of an English SBBL 32 pounder gun and is also fired at 16:00 daily.
