A trio of swans. UK: THESE BEAUTIFUL snowy images captured on 16th January 2023 show how beautiful English wildlife can be. One image shows a Sika Buck in the Yorkshire Dales staring straight at the photographer while another image shows a barn owl with its successful vole capture sitting on a branch in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire. The Sika buck, also known as the Northern spotted deer, can grow to 45 inches tall and 70 inches long and weigh up to 350 pounds. Their antlers can range from 17 to 30 inches in size. These images were captured by Irene Amiet (42) in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. ?After a very wet, windy and rather warm January, wildlife sightings in England have been sparse, especially in the North-West, ? said Irene. ?With yesterday?s freeze and the return of a wintery sun, conditions improved. ?Hungry game and fowl stags scratching for grass and barn owls hunting for vole out early all contributed to winter wildlife showing against the flurries.? mediadrumimages/IreneAmiet
