Rotherham, England, UK. 31 May 2018. Period poverty across the UK - Sanitary Products Offered in Local Foodbank. At Rotherham Foodbank (part of the Trussell Trust) ladies are offered a selection of sanitary products when they come in for a food parcel. Some donors have prioritised giving sanitary products to keep stock available, so that virtually every woman can be offered a product that suits their preferences. Take up of the offer is very high, and is offered by a female volunteer in privacy. Foodbank Manager Stephen Prosser notes that, "This is an important function of the foodbank, simply because our clients are as unable to purchase sanitary products as they are other food essentials." Photo is of a selection of sanitary products currently available in the foodbank. Consent granted. © HASPhotos/ Alamy Live News
