A leather ni-mai-do tosei gusoku, Japan, end of the Edo/beginning of the Meiji period. Momonari-kabuto in clear sabi nuri with damaged lacquer and hineno-shikoro sliding on four lames. Large crane maedate of the Tsuru family. All pieces of the armour are black lacquered, accented in gold, and set off with printed leather (retouched later) or light sabi nuri lacquer. Leather mempo in the Nara style with beard, three-piece yodari-kake and kebiki binding. The katabami mon of the Morikawa family is on the do (and carrying case).
