A beautiful tawny owl. Basel, Switzerland: THESE ADORABLE images show a sleepy tawny owl begrudgingly opening its eyes to allow this photographer to capture the fluffy bird resting. One image shows a tawny owl resting in a tree truck, opening its sleepy owls to see the photographer through the leaves. Tawny owls, also known as brown owls, grow to 18 inches in length with a wingspan of up to 41 inches. They weigh up to 800 grams, with the females weighing 25 per cent more than the males. These images were taken by graphic designer and photographer Patrick Donini (50) in Basel, Switzerland using a Canon R5 camera. ?The tawny owl fascinates me, ? said Patrick. ?I was very happy to be able to photograph these birds because they are usually not easy to spot. ?They are well camouflaged. ?I was about 15 to 20 meters away. ?With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of nature and bring it to the people.? mediadrumimages/PatrickDonini
