A beaded snake crafted by the Huichol indigenous peoples of Northern Mexico. Serpents in the Huichol culture are responsible for bringing rain or imparting skill in embroidery. The Huichol People live in the remote mountain states of Nayarit and Jalisco, Mexico. Each tiny glass seed bead is individually pressed onto a beeswax coated surface, either carved wood or a hollowed out gourd.
