04 November 2020, Brandenburg, Gross Pankow/Ot Wolfshagen: The river Stepenitz flows near the community of Kreuzburg between autumnally leafy trees. The approximately 84-kilometer-long river is considered one of the cleanest rivers in Germany and is a tributary of the Elbe in Brandenburg. Since 1999, sea trout and young salmon, which were considered extinct in the middle of the 20th century, have been released in the Stepenitz. Returning salmon can be observed between mid November and mid December. Photo: Soeren Stache/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB
