Description An Eighteenth-century listed building steeped in literary heritage: Grove House was previously owned by the novelist Graham Greene, who's ex wife Vivien established the Museum of Dolls in the Rotunada. The house was frequented by Lewis Carroll and it is thought that the character of The Mad Hatter was based on a former resident. Cardinal John Newman's mother also lived here, and parts of the structure are said to have been salvaged from Oxford's first train station, and leftovers from the construction of Crystal Palace.
