The wharf at Kanowit Sarawak Malaysia
Description
The Rajang River is main river cutting through the Malaysian state of Sarawak, northern Borneo, and forms the most convenient transport artery in the state. Frequent hi-speed ferries ply up and down its length, performing a vital communications link for the many towns and villages scattered along both the main river and its tributaries. This image shows a group of ferries waiting for passengers at the dock in Kanowit, a small town about halfway up the river. |
