Keeping domestic hens in the garden Scotland 2005 before bird flu scare
Description Feeding pet hens in a back garden in Scotland in 2005 before the bird flu scare. Shirley Kilpatrick feeds the young hens with a grape each every day, to make sure they are all used to coming right up to her (even knowing their own names) so that they will be easier to catch. They have totally free range and the garden contains hundreds of wild birds, bats, hedgehogs, squirrels, frogs - all a problem according to the Government when avian influenza arrives.
