Description Black-necked Stilt feeding in a shallow lake named Eco Pond, Flamingo village in the Everglades, Florida, a large, very slim wader, black above and white below with long spindly red legs and needlelike bill. Its habitat is mainly mud flats, pools, shallow lakes either fresh or alkaline.
