Description At the end of the 1980's the Minister of the Interior of the state of North Rhine Westphalia took the decision to build a training academy to Herne. In addition to the training academy the building includes several other funtions as well. It houses seminar facilities, meeting rooms, accommodation facilities, a restaurant, a gymnasium, a library, a civic hall and leisure facilities. The building has a micro-climate like the Mediterranean and an integrated PV-modules (solar panels) on the roof with the electrical power feeding into the National Grid.
