Description
These wooden sailing ships docked in Seattle for an extended stay were the historic replicas of the fleet that Vitus Bering first explored the Bering Strait in. The fleet was based in Vladivostok and was touring the Pacific Northwest. They docked in Lake Union in Seattle where, due to limiited funds for needed repairs, were stranded for months before they could collect enough money in donations to make their craft seaworthy and continue their voyage. |
