Description Escaramuza Flor de Primavera riding group at the San Juan Festival in Downtown Tucson Arizona. Flor de Primavera means flower of spring. This image shows the group praying for a safe performance before the event started. The group has been described as ballet on horseback with girls wearing elaborate traditional dresses riding side saddle and running their horses through a series of complex synchronized patterns. Like a full speed charge to the audience high speed single file and figure eight crossing in the center of the arena. Most of their maneuvers are performed just inches from the other riders. The dresses represent “Solderas” in honor of the women soldiers who went into combat during the Mexican Revolution. The group has performed in parades and events across the United States as well as at the Tucson Rodeo and Parade.
