How to subscribe to our feeds

  1. You will need a News Reader or other similar device to subscribe. Find out more from the information we’ve provided below.
  2. Choose a feed from the list opposite and either drag the link, or copy an paste the URL, into your News Reader.

What is RSS?

‘RSS’ stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a means for gathering and distributing news and information from sources across the Web, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs. Information from sites and subjects of your choosing can be sent to you when it’s published and this is called a ‘Feed’.

Using a News Reader to subscribe to feeds

The first thing you need is something called a News Reader which are available in a number of formats. Some are accessed using a browser and others are downloadable applications, but all allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want. Once you have chosen a news reader, you’ll just have to decide what content you want. For example, if you would like the latest news from Alamy, simply click on the feeds at the top of the page.

Some browsers, including Firefox, Opera and Safari, have functionality which automatically picks up RSS feeds for you. For more details on these, please check their websites.
