This was never built, the commission eventually going to William Wiggington. The foundation stone for Christ Church was laid on 30th August 1870 and the building consecrated by John Jackson the Bishop of London on 6th May 1871. The church was destroyed during German bombing raids in 1940, and finally demolished in around 1953.

The window theme is Baptism by Blood, Water and Fire and is illustrated by the martyrdom of St. Stephen, the baptism of Christ, and the descent of the Holy Ghost at Pentecost. The works were carried out under the supervision of the Diocesan Architect Joseph Stretch Crowther (1820 - 1893). The window was destroyed in a German bombing raid in December 1942 during World War 2.
