Food imagery from Alamy
Oxfordshire, UK, November 03, 2006
Food glorious food is the main focus of Sue Wilson's work. One of our premier food photographers, Sue has built up an impressive collection of mouth-watering images.
A former art director, she switched to photography eight years ago to find another avenue for her creative ideas.
Featuring predominantly natural ingredients and elegant styling, Sue's approach is clean, graphic and atmospheric. "I try to bring out the raw texture, detail and specific quality of each object, using natural lighting and minimal props."
"I tend to work in themes or collections of related subjects, offering clients the possibility to create the look of a bespoke commissioned set of images" she said.
Alex Bortkiewicz, Alamy's Director of Photography, adds: "We are thrilled to have Sue Wilson on board. Her work reflects the current aesthetic in food photography through its contemporary styling, lighting, props and composition. Food as an idea and concept has progressed from the simplistic role of fuel and sustenance to more sophisticated and diverse topics such as nutrition, health, the sensory pleasure of food, origins of food and organic themes. Sue Wilson's collection encapsulates this completely."
