Hmong Sports Festival tournament is held at McMurray Field in St Paul Minnesota USA. The festival draws 20,000 from the Hmong community around the country and the world. The St Paul tournament has come to be the main event as the heart of the Hmong community. (Condensed from Twin Cities Daily Planet.net) Hmong Americans are Laotian Hmong war refugees who have resettled in America following the communist takeover of Laos in 1975. The immigrants are made up of men and their families directly associated with General Vang Pao's Secret Army, which had been aligned with U.S. war efforts during the Vietnam War.
