© Roussel Bernard One of the main reasons clients choose Alamy for images over those of our competitors is due to the sheer breadth of our collection. We pride ourselves on stocking everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary that our clients simply cannot find elsewhere.
We would like to send out a huge thank you to all of our contributors for supplying us with fresh imagery daily that makes our collection what it is today. In July we received a record number of images (over 900,000!) which enabled us to hit the 25 million images mark.
Alamy's sales teams in the US and UK are working away as hard as ever acquiring brand new customers and exploring new revenue opportunities (one new US publisher spent $55k last month). We have also sold twice as many images this year than 2010. To further inspire you, there have been some spectacular purchases for single images. These include $25,000 for an advertising poster.
To make things simpler for our contributors we have adapted our QC and upload processes and now the majority (90%) of images are passing through QC and are available online for keywording within 24 hours.
For those of you with Archive, Reportage or News images these can be processed in a matter of minutes! If you wish to apply for these upload routes please log into your account, go to 'My Alamy' > 'Additional revenue opportunities'> 'Apply to join the Reportage/Archival upload route'.
Our German site has been up and running since May and we are starting to see great advances here. Our Video launch is on the horizon and we are on target to be up and running with this in early 2012. The Alamy News feed beta is also shaping up and we are receiving more and more powerful images from around the world each day. Further developments to the News product are also on their way soon. Watch this space....
Until then, happy shooting!
